In this walking tour we follow some of the least explored trails of the Northern Albanian Alps. Guided by local shepherds, this is a great tour for experienced travellers who like to be challenged. Even though Blankets and mattresses are provided in the huts, you might feel more comfortable bringing your own sleeping bag.

Day 1. Airport – Rubik
Arrive in Tirana and meet with our tour leader before trasferring to Rubik. In Rubik, we will stay at the hotel Marubi. Depending on the time of arrival, there will be an opportunity for a 2-hour walk to the nearby village or a visit to the 12th century old Rubik Church to admire the spectacular views. Day 2: Rubik – Transit Kosovo (Prizren & Gjakova) – Tropojë village
In Kosovo we make a short visit to Prizren. Prizren is known for its Ottoman architecture and beautiful mosques and churches. During the Ottoman period it was one of the most important centres of the Kosovo province, now, it's home to 3 religious communities (Catholic, Orthodox, Muslim) cohabiting peacefully together. In Gjakova we will walk through its old bazaar, one of the longest in the Balkan and a beautiful example of Ottoman Architecture. In the afternoon we reach the village of Tropojë and stay in the village houses.
Day 3: Tropoja village – Sylbica pastures (1800m)
Guided by the local guide, after loading our luggage on the horses, we begin walking along the banks of the Tropoja river. The journey lasts about 6 hours and in the end, we arrive in the village of Sylbicë.
Day 4: Sylbicë – Dobërdol (1800 -1900 m)
After breakfast, we load our luggage on the horses and start walking to Dobërdol. On the way, we will have time to take breaks and enjoy the scenery of the Alps.
Day 5: Dobërdol – Çerem – Valbona (860 m)
Today we walk from Dobërdol to Çerem passing through Koshutica and Vranica. Lunch is organised in the village of Çerem.
Day 6 : Valbona – Valbona pass – Theth (1950 m – 750 m)
We need about 2-3 hours depending on the ability of the group to reach the summit of the Valbona pass at the altitude of 1815 m. From there the panorama of both Valbona and Theth valleys is breathtaking. In the afternoon we reach Theth and stay in the guesthouse.
Day 7: Theth – Qafa e T’hores – Boge – Shkoder – Tirana (1830 m)
By local minibus we drive through Theth – T’thore Pass – Boga – Shkodër. Shkodër has been a very important city for the Albanian since antiquity. Lunch will be in the city centre with e beautiful view of the pedestrian street where many coffee shops are situated. Next, we drive to Tirana and visit the city. We will have a 2-hour guided walk through the city centre.
Day 8: Tirana – Mother Theresa Airport
Breakfast in Tirana. Free time. Transfer to the Airport
